On which holiday do we say “thank you for your service”? In the United States, a number of holidays related to the military are celebrated, with two—Memorial Day and Veterans Day— being federal holidays. While often confused, they have different origins and honor different groups. There is also a third holiday, Armed Forces Day, which many people are not aware of.
Here at DesignHammer, everyone has something that they like to "geek out" about. In honor of Geek Pride Day, here are some of the things that really send our staff down the proverbial rabbit hole.
November 11th is Usability Day, also known as "Make Things Easier Day", which begs the question: are we actually making things easier for people with disabilities? Recent surveys suggest no, not necessarily. Despite the best intentions of user experience designers and software developers, we are failing in our efforts to make software both accessible and usable for all.
