As versatile technologists, we believe in using the right tool for the right job. Through our collaborative development process, DesignHammer’s close-knit team of experienced web strategists, developers, and designers leverage existing software platforms, custom software frameworks, and third-party software integrations to provide client organizations with the best ROI. If you do not have specific platform requirements, DesignHammer’s strategists will walk you through a cost and feature comparison exercise to help determine what’s best for you.
Free and Open-Source Software Solutions
Free and open-source software (FOSS) refers to software that is free and open-source, though in this case “free” as in free speech as much as in low or no cost. FOSS is free to use, copy, study, change, and distribute. Utilizing FOSS platforms instead of proprietary software allows DesignHammer to minimize licensing fees as well as review and extend code to customize software when appropriate for a given project. We have been working in FOSS technologies, such as Drupal and WordPress, to deliver small to enterprise-scale projects for over 20 years.
While off-the-shelf Free and Open Source (FOSS) content management systems will provide the greatest ROI, they don’t always meet the workflow or user experience expectations that our clients envision. For those that are willing to accept a lower ROI, DesignHammer can extend existing open source functionality, develop custom modules/plugins, or develop a full custom solution using technologies such as PHP, Vue.js, Node.js, Python, and Electron, among others.
Third-Party Service Integration
If you use Software as a Service (SaaS) products or other third-party systems such as internal databases, DesignHammer can seamlessly integrate these technologies with your project, often allowing for improved efficiency and user experience for users and/or staff. Some third-party SaaS integrations that DesignHammer has extensive experience integrating include:
