As a member of the Durham Jaycees, Pashby was recently recognized as the go-to person for help with activities.

During the Jaycee’s annual awards meeting, Pashby was honored with the SPOKE Award for his involvement with the Jaycees and his commitment to the Durham community.

Honoring Seth Vidal, open-source developer and cyclist

On Monday evening, Durham resident Seth Vidal, 36, was cycling in his neighborhood when he was killed by a hit-and-run driver. Seth was a long-time member of the Durham cycling community, and a well-respected and prominent figure in the open source community (he was the lead developer of yum).


NCTech4Good Meetup Notes

January 20, 2012
I had the pleasure of presenting at the January meeting of the NCTech4Good Meetup held at the offices of United Way of the Greater Triangle in Morrisville, NC. The talk covered similarities between Usability, Accessibility, and SEO, a topic I first addressed here in 2009. Since my initial blog post, I assembled a talk, which I have presented at multiple venues, inclusing BarCampRDU, Internet Summit in Raleigh, as well as Wake Technical Community College.
