We all want our projects to appeal to as wide an audience as possible. We work hard on the work we produce and we want to make sure that our product is usable, appealing, and inclusive, but frequently an unintended bias or underlying assumption may turn an innocuous oversight into an inconvenience or even a barrier for the people we’re trying to reach. Habitat for Humanity of Durham recently completed the seventh year of their annual fundraising event, the Halloween 100, sending local participants on a 31-, 62-, or 100-mile ride through Durham to support the organization's home-building projects. This year, Durham's creative agencies worked together to create a unique fundraising event that would support the burgeoning arts community in the Bull City. Nine of the area's top agencies competed in a sponsored field games event called the Bull City Blowout to raise money for a local non-profit organization.
