High Five 2017 will be the place to be

This week Stephen and I will be attending the hippest marketing conference in the southeast: High Five 2017. Hosted by the AMA Triangle, the largest marketing association between D.C. and Atlanta, and the American Marketing Association’s Chapter of the Year for the last two consecutive years.

This year, DesignHammer has signed on as a Supporting Sponsor of the conference. With all the great things AMA Triangle is doing, we had to be a part of it, and help support the chapter’s mission.

Why attend High Five you might ask?

“The idea for High Five was conceived in 2013. For too long, local marketers and creatives needed to seek inspiration in the likes of Austin, San Francisco, and New York. We decided to create a conference that celebrated the talent and vibrancy of the Triangle—right here in the Triangle.”

Unfortunately, if you don’t have your tickets yet, sorry, you are out of luck. The conference has been sold out for weeks. Those that planned will join us at the Raleigh Sheraton Hotel in downtown Raleigh. Who will be at High Five? According to the conference organizers:

“Last year’s sold-out event included 450 marketing and creative professionals from across 24 states (2/3 marketing, 1/3 creative). Each year High Five’s out-of-state audience grows. In 2016, 15% of attendees were from outside North Carolina. They hail from Virginia, Wisconsin, Texas, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Michigan, Maryland, Massachusetts, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Florida, Washington DC, Colorado, California and Arizona. Pretty impressive. In addition to geographic reach, 2016 High Five guests represented 280 different companies and various marketing, creative and executive roles. These include companies like Red Hat, IBM, SAS and Oracle. Range from marketing coordinator to business owner, but likely focusing on marketing managers and marketing directors. Approximately 1/3 in-house, 1/3 agency, 1/3 other (individual consultants, freelancers, in-transition). Over the past four years, High Five has built a loyal following. Consistently, greater than 95% of attendees say they’ll return to High Five. And our speakers are a HUGE part of that :)”

This year’s conference will be packed with content from over forty-five speakers presenting six workshops, six keynotes, seven featured breakouts, twenty-eight breakouts, and eight lightning talks.

We’ll be in the exhibit hall from 10:45am–6:30pm Wednesday, and 10:00am–4:00pm on Wednesday. Stop by to say “hello” and grab one of our brand new DesignHammer logo sport bags, produced by our friends at Brand Fuel. We’ll also be running a survey on the use of various digital marketing tools, with results to be published on our blog later in the month.
