Client Description
RTI International is an independent, nonprofit organization founded and funded in 1958 by local businesses and three NC universities, that provides research, development, and technical services to government and commercial clients worldwide. Headquartered in Research Triangle Park, RTI is split into eleven departments, which includes Health Research, Drug Discovery & Development, Education & Training Research, Survey Research, among others. RTI’s experts tackle hundreds of projects each year to address complex social and scientific challenges on behalf of governments, businesses, foundations, universities, and other clients and partners.
The Challenge
As part of its rebranding process, Research Triangle Institute changed its name to RTI International and adopted a new logo, striving to be recognized as the premier independent research institute in the world. A new web site design by DesignHammer, deployed in June 2002, was part of the rebranding process.
The Solution
In 2007 RTI International asked DesignHammer to redesign their new site. With great pride, the new site went live in August 2008. The new design conveys the message “RTI is the world’s best resource for turning knowledge into practice through innovative, multidisciplinary research and technology development.” The site serves a diverse audience identified as clients/collaborators, policymakers, researchers, current and potential customers, potential investors, potential employees, news media, and the general public.
The new site has been very well received and achieved the look and feel and functional requirements that we desired.
