Durham, NC — DesignHammer is honored to receive the Alfred P. Sloan “Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility” award for the second year in a row. The company is recognized, along with national employers of all sizes, for its use of flexible workplace practices.
This esteemed honor is presented by When Work Works, a nationwide initiative to strategically increase business and employee success through workplace flexibility. The award was accepted by David Minton at the North Carolina Society for Human Resource Management (NCSHRM) State Conference in Winston-Salem, yesterday.
“Early on, we recognized the importance of a flexible corporate culture,” said David Minton, managing partner of DesignHammer. “It’s continued to demonstrate benefits for both our employees and business,” he said.
Research has shown workplace flexibility to benefit employees while also helping businesses remain competitive. For example, flextime, part-time work and compressed workweeks have allowed employees to work efficiently and with greater job satisfaction.
In addition, employees in effective and flexible workplaces have reported lower stress level and better overall health.
The Sloan Awards are unique for their rigorous two-step selection process. This involves an evaluation of employers’ flexibility programs, which are measured against national norms from the National Study of Employers. A confidential employee survey affirms the flexible and effective practices of a company.
