Staff Positions (Part-Time Only)
Web Developer / Programmer
We are looking to hire an experienced web developer with a proven track record of developing and supporting dynamic websites and online applications.
- Experts in developing for Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP. Knowledge of Javascript, CSS, XML, and Ruby on Rails, and system administration a plus
- Experienced with Content Management Systems such as Drupal, WordPress, Expression Engine, Mambo and/or Joomla
- Conscience of good User Experience
- Able to communicate with clients, and manage their workload to meet shifting deadlines
- Looking to play a major role in shaping the online presence of major regional organizations
- Willing to play well with others
Web Designer
Web Designers work with clients in creating user interface designs in Photoshop, as well as building templates for static and database-driven websites.
You must have an online portfolio, and a proven track record of successful projects to be considered.
We are looking for candidates who are:
- Exceptional user interface designers, with strengths in color theory, layout,
and typography for the Web - Following the trends in developing standards-compliant websites
- A master of Adobe Photoshop (FLASH experience a plus)
- Experienced in hand-coding valid HTML/XHTML using CSS positioning (tableless layouts)
- Familiar with PHP (extensive experience with PHP, AJAX, and/or Ruby on Rails a plus)
- Able to communicate with clients, and manage their workload to meet shifting deadlines
- Looking to play a leading role in shaping the online presence of major regional organizations
- Willing to play well with others
Student Internships
DesignHammer is looking for interns with advanced skills in web design and development to directly assist in producing commercial web sites. These are paid positions.
You must have an online portfolio to be considered. Be specific about the role you played in producing the sites in your portfolio (versus what was done by others).
